licenses, and related clearances. The office ensures that all businesses operating within the
municipality are properly registered and compliant with applicable laws, ordinances, and safety
standards.
The BPLO plays a vital role in promoting local economic development by streamlining business
registration processes, ensuring ease of doing business, and protecting public interest through
proper regulation and monitoring of business activities.
Mandates and Responsibilities
Business Registration and Renewal
Processes applications for new business registrations and annual renewals, ensuring all regulatory and documentary requirements are met.
Tax Assessment
Assesses and computes the necessary business taxes, fees, and charges based on capitalization or gross sales in coordination with the Municipal or City Treasurer’s Office.
Compliance Monitoring
Conducts regular inspections to ensure businesses comply with zoning, fire safety, environmental, health, and labor standards to protect the public.
