About Office of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office

The Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) is responsible for the municipality’s social welfare and development initiatives, including palnning execution, monitoring, and evaluation. It ensures the delivery of protective, preventive, rehabilitative, and developmental interventions to improve the well-being and quality of life of its constituents, particularly those who are poor, disabled, senior citizen, women, children, single parents, and other vulnerable groups.

Mandates and Responsibilities

Social Protection and Development

Identifying the basic needs of impoverished, marginalized, and disadvantaged individuals and developing localized strategies to improve their living conditions.

Disaster Relief and Crisis Intervention

Providing immediate relief, financial assistance (e.g., medical and burial), and psychological support to victims of abuse, exploitation, or calamities.

Vulnerable Sector Welfare

Implementing specialized programs for the elderly (OSCA), children (such as day-care development), and PWDs.

Policy and Planning

Formulating comprehensive social welfare policies and advising the Municipal Mayor and Sangguniang Bayan on matters concerning social justice and basic services.
